A commercial truck driver had their truck impounded following an incident at a set of railway tracks last Tuesday in Prince George…

Police say just after 1:30 PM on January 9, 2024, officers responded to a report of a stuck commercial semi-truck on railway tracks near River Road. Just to note, River Road doesn’t have tracks running across it, the incident occurred in an industrial lot on the 1900 block of River Road. Upon arrival to the scene, officers noted several signs of driver impairment.

Officers demanded the driver take a breath sample, which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was arrested and brought back to the detachment for a full impaired driving investigation. The driver provided two more breath samples, both registered as nearly double the legal limit of alcohol.

The driver was released and handed a 90 day administrative driving prohibition and the commercial truck was impounded.
