Police in Fort St. John are currently investigating a fatal shooting and vehicle chase that has left one man dead…

Police say the incident began at approximately 7:38 pm, when officers received multiple calls reporting several vehicles were engaged in what appeared to be a car chase between three vehicles.

Witnesses reported hearing and seeing gunshots exchanged between the vehicles as they travelled from 100th Ave south on 90th St. At least two residences in the area were struck by the gunfire. A deceased male, who is believed to have been part of the incident, was located in a vehicle near 97th Ave and 90th St.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation and are asking anyone who may have been in the areas listed above near the time of the incident, anyone with doorbell cameras, home security cameras or dashboard cameras, to call the Fort St. John RCMP Detachment.

People living in the area of the incident are asked to examine their residences for any damage that may be have been received as a result of the incident and report to the Fort St. John RCMP.
