UPDATE – RCMP continue to investigate a hit-and-run that occurred on Chief Lake Road the evening of Tuesday, December 19, 2023, that claimed the life of a 76-year-old man.
Police have an update to the suspect vehicle description and are now looking for a mid-2000s Ford F150, light in colour, with damage to the front end.
Police would also like to thank those members of the community who have come forward with security footage including Dash Cam footage.
Police continue to investigate and should anyone have information related to the collision, call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

Emergency crews from Prince George and nearby Pilot Mountain responded to a serious vehicle incident involving a pedestrian on Chief Lake Road near Syms Rd Tuesday evening…

The incident occurred just after 5 pm near the Pilot Mountain Fire Hall and involved one vehicle and a pedestrian. The vehicle involved, a white SUV, fled the scene and has not been located. The vehicle in question would have front end damage to it.
Chief Lake Road was closed for approximately 5 hours while RCMP investigated the incident. It reopened just after 10 pm to full traffic.
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage to give the Prince George RCMP a call at 250-561-3300.
