Fatal vehicle incident claims life of pedestrian on Highway 97…

Police confirm that one person has died following a vehicle incident Wednesday evening involving a pedestrian.
The incident occurred between Bellamy Rd and Kenworth Rd on Highway 97 just after 5 pm and snarled traffic during the evening commute. The highway was closed for several hours while officers investigated the scene.
The vehicle involved remained at the scene of the incident and there was no criminality involved in the incident. The area the crash occurred in was dark and is not lit up well during the evening hours.
The cause of the vehicle incident has not been released.
