UPDATE 3 – This crash claimed the life of one person and sent another to hospital via helicopter in serious condition.

Motorists be advised that Highway 97, approximately 48 km north of Prince George, is CLOSED due to a serious motor vehicle crash.

Police say the crash involves two vehicles, a 5-ton pickup truck and a pickup truck. PJXM has also learned that a fire ensued after the crash occurred. As for victims, police say that one person has been airlifted to hospital following the crash. No word on any other victims at this time.

The incident is between Mitchell Road and Summit Lake Rd.
