One person has died following a two vehicle crash north of Fort St. John Saturday morning…

Police say just before 10 AM, emergency crews responded to the crash scene on the Alaska Highway between Stoddart Creek Rd and the 283 Rd in Charlie Lake.

Upon arrival, emergency crews learned that a commercial truck and a pickup truck collided head-on in the southbound lane of the Alaska Highway. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult woman, was located deceased. The driver of the commercial truck was uninjured.

Investigation has revealed the driver of the pickup was headed northbound on the Alaska Highway when the pickup truck crossed over into the southbound lane.

Police do not believe there to be any criminality in this crash.

The Alaska Highway was closed for several hours in the southbound lane with a detour in place.
