A known man to the Prince George RCMP is in custody following an assault on another person with a baseball bat last Friday…
Police say just after 2 pm on October 27, 2023, officers responded to the incident on the 1200 block of 2nd Ave. Witnesses told officers they saw a man assaulting another person with a baseball bat. The male suspect fled the area before police had arrived, however, witnesses kept a close eye on the suspect and that helped RCMP locate the man within 15 minutes of the initial call.
The male suspect was arrested and taken into custody where he remains at this time. The suspect is known to police and at the time of the man’s arrest he was bound by a probation order stemming from a similar offence back in 2022.
The victim remains in the hospital with serious injuries. The suspect will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
