Ended.

This coming week is going to bring some much needed rain to the North Coast, Central Interior, McBride region and the Cariboo region, as heavy rain is in the forecast!

Breaking down region by region because the rain could be heavier in the mountain areas such as Terrace, Prince Rupert and McBride regions with less amounts for Prince George and Quesnel.

UPDATEDPrince Rupert 50 to 75 mm for Tuesday alone in the Prince Rupert region. An additional 30 to 40 mm of rain is expected by Friday.

UPDATED – Terrace region could receive between 75 mm by Friday. The heaviest rainfall will be on Tuesday with 30 to 40 mm expected and on Wednesday an additional 20 to 25 mm of rain is expected.

UPDATED – McBride region could see up to 35 mm of rain. Originally up to 50 mm was expected. That has since changed and it is expected to change again.

UPDATEDPrince George and Quesnel region up to 15 mm of rain is expected on Monday. Warmer temperatures are in the forecast for this week with a temperature drop this coming weekend.

Keep in mind these figures will indeed change so it’s just a heads up that some areas that experienced drought or continue to experience drought could have a chance of localized flooding causing unstable land, particularly around areas that had or continue to have wildfire.

Temperatures will remain above seasonal for this time of year, especially for the Prince George region. A pattern temperature change is in the works for the end of October.

This forecast story will be updated on Sunday, October 15, 2023 and on Monday, October 16, 2023.
