UPDATE 2 – A vehicle collision sent two people to hospital in Fort St. John Friday morning.

Police say that a pickup truck rear-ended a SUV and caused a chain reaction event. In total, four vehicles were damaged. No one else was injured.

A reminder that fall weather is now upon us and it is advisable to bring back the fall/winter driving common sense on the roadways.

The Alaska Highway was closed but has since reopened. A backlog of traffic was eventually cleared an hour later at around 9:30 am.


UPDATE – Alaska Highway has now reopened. As of 8:33 am. Expect delays.


Motorists be advised that Highway 97 (Alaska Highway) is closed in both directions due to a police incident. The incident is between Pingel Creek Rd and

No detour. Expect major delays.
