On the morning of Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the Prince George RCMP was notified by Mackenzie RCMP of a pickup truck heading into Prince George with suspects sought in a recent theft investigation.

Police say the vehicle was sighted by PG officers traveling southbound on Highway 97 just before noon on the same day. The vehicle subsequently fled from officers onto Sponaugle Road.

RCMP Air 3 and a Police Service Dog team were called in to search for the four occupants of the vehicle after it was found abandoned near the river off of Marlin Drive.

The suspects were not located despite a lengthy attempt by multiple units. Police believe they crossed the river on foot.

The PG RCMP is asking anyone who may have seen four males across the river from Marlin Road or in the surrounding area, or who noticed anything suspicious, please contact the non-emergency number to speak with an investigator.
