UPDATE 3 – Highway 97 is now open.
UPDATE 2 – Single lane alternating traffic. Estimated full reopening time is 9 pm. Delays over 20 minutes are expected.
UPDATE – Estimated time of reopening is 5 pm.
Northbound traffic to Chetwynd can detour using Hwy 29 to Hudson’s Hope and then to Fort St. John. Southbound traffic to Chetwynd will have to wait or turn around and head back.
Motorists be advised that Highway 97 is CLOSED in both directions due to a vehicle incident near Chetwynd.
