UPDATE 3 –
What: 30 to 40 mm of rain, with potential for localized amounts near 50 mm by Wednesday night.
Threats: Possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Localized flooding. Risk of lightning.
When: Now through Wednesday night.
Where: Areas south of Highway 16 in the Prince George and Stuart-Nechako areas, including Red Rock, Hixon, Punchaw, Euchino Creek, western sections of the Cariboo and the 100 Mile region – areas from Highway 97 westwards, including Quesnel and Williams Lake.
Remarks: An upper low crossing the BC Interior will bring rain and a risk of thunderstorms to the region through today. Rain is expected to ease Wednesday night.
UPDATE 2 – 60 to 80 mm of rain is expected for areas south of Tumbler Ridge and into the McGregor region.
UPDATE – Up to 25 mm of rain is expected for the Prince George region beginning late Tuesday night and all day Wednesday. The heaviest rainfall is to occur on Wednesday. Thunderstorms are also a possibility for Tuesday night and Wednesday. For the Southern BC Peace region, a warning will be issued soon.
Rain! Significant rain is in the forecast for many areas in the Central Interior and northeastern BC beginning on Tuesday night…
If the forecast pans out, up to 30 mm of rain is in the forecast for the Prince George region beginning late Tuesday night and ending Thursday morning. Heavy rain is also in the forecast for southern parts of the BC Peace region on Wednesday.
Environment Canada suggests 20 mm of rain for the South Peace region and 50 mm of rain for Kakwa Park in the McBride region.
The return of summer time temps and sun resumes on Thursday for the Prince George area.
