PJXM is going to be making some changes to when news is posted to the website.
Effective August 14, 2023, PJXM will be closed on Saturday through to Tuesday of each week. However, if anything serious comes up within the PJXM coverage area, a post will be made! PJXM is also going to turn off the Facebook page once again. It will reopen if the government makes changes to Bill C-18 that allows media in Canada to be on the platform as once was. It makes no sense to post to a page that does not get seen by Canadian’s within Canada.
PJXM has seen a significant drop in web traffic since changes done to Facebook earlier this month. When PJXM wasn’t on Facebook from December 2020 to August 2022, it ran on the same type of schedule and that worked out better in the long run.
PJXM will be posting more provincial police news beginning this weekend. In order to make sure PJXM is getting enough web traffic, content from outside the normal coverage area is going to begin. If web traffic slows below the goal threshold PJXM may have to shut the site down come renewal time in April 2024. That would be during PJXM’s 15th year of operation. Pretty sad.
This will also entail a website redesign as well.
