The Fort St. John RCMP is currently investigating an early morning shots fired incident…

Police say at approximately 6:18 AM, officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home on 112th Ave near Triangle Park in Fort St. John.

Police immediately attended the area and saw evidence to support the reports and quickly identified a residence of interest. Out of an abundance of caution in keeping with public safety, several homes in the surrounding area were told to shelter in place.

With the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT and Police Dog Services (PDS) multiple people were arrested and currently remain in police custody. There were no reported injuries and there is no further risk to the public.

Police will be in the area as they conduct an on-scene investigation, gathering forensic evidence. There are no further details available.

NOTE: An earlier RCMP release said the incident occurred on 113th Ave. It in fact occurred at a home on 112th Ave, between 113th Ave and 111th Ave.
