RCMP say that allegations into this incident have been proved false. The 20 year-old man has since left British Columbia. Police are warning the public to not believe everything you read or see on social media channels. No charges have been laid against the vigilantes involved in this incident. Videos produced by the man who had accused the 20 year-old have been deleted. A classic case of wrong doing.

The Dawson Creek RCMP is investigating a case of vigilantism after a man was assaulted on the DGR and Highway 97 near Arras this week…
Police say on July 12, 2023, at around 9:45 PM, officers received a report that a man was being targeted and attacked by vigilantes near a local business on the Dangerous Goods Route.
On July 13, 2023, at around 6:45 AM, Dawson Creek RCMP received another report of a man being assaulted at the intersection of 225 and Highway 97 South in Arras.
Investigators determined that the victim in both incidents was the same 20-year-old man. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police are actively investigating the incidents and the nature of the attacks on the victim. Initial information indicates that the victim was targeted as a result of unsubstantiated rumors posted on social media.
PJXM has been following the comments and a video posted on a Facebook group since this incident began in Grande Prairie, AB, and find the entire situation disturbing on both ends. The video and pictures have since been removed from the Facebook group “Grande Prairie Alberta”.
