Police are sending out a reminder to wear a bike helmet following the death of a cyclist near Quesnel on July 1…
Police say at approximately 6:45 AM, officers responded to a report of a deceased man in the ditch on Dragon Hill, along Highway 97.
Upon arrival, officers located one man deceased. Investigation has revealed the cyclist struck a light pole while heading down Dragon Hill and landed in the nearby ditch.
The man was not wearing a helmet and the bike had no functioning brakes.
Police also mention to make sure that the bike has working brakes before heading out on a journey.
