On June 16 the popular weekly event Foodie Fridays returns to downtown Prince George with a soft opening. From noon to 4 pm each Friday until September 1, Foodie Fridays brings food trucks, vendors, entertainment – and hungry residents – to Canada Games Plaza (725 Canada Games Way).

“The idea was first brought to City staff in 2016 by a group of local businesses who wanted to bring something new downtown to complement our already fantastic restaurants and cafés,” says civic event coordinator, Susie Jones.  “The soft opening in June will allow vendors to get familiar with the lunch crowd and the space downtown. We are excited to expand the event through the summer to bring on more food and entertainment options.”

Last held in 2019, this year’s Foodie Fridays expects to draw a large crowd. Previous years have drawn more than 5000 visits, averaging over 500 attendees per event in 2019.
