UPDATE: Police in Fort St. John have made an arrest in these two cases. The man identified as Zury RESCHKE was arrested on June 8, a day after RCMP asked for assistance in locating the wanted man. He remains in jail.
Police say during the investigation, officers received information which led to the arrest of RESCHKE on June 8, 2023. Reschke was held for court.
BC Crown Prosecution Services has approved charges of:
- Robbery with a Firearm (2 counts)
- Disguise with Intent (2 counts)
- Careless Use of a Firearm (2 counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
“Working together with the public created additional leads which led to this quick arrest”, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St. John RCMP.Β “Thank you to the media and the public for their assistance in this matter.”Β
On June 9, 2023, Reschke was remanded in custody until June 15, 2023.

Police in Fort St. John are asking for the public’s help in identifying a wanted man following two armed robberies on June 3…
Police say on June 3, 2023, at 9:03 PM, officers responded to report of a robbery in progress at the Charlie Lake General Store.
An unknown man entered the store, carrying what was believed to be a shotgun, wearing a brown and beige vertical striped Mexican style poncho, grey pants and a grey balaclava covering his face from the nose down.
Approximately 20 minutes later at 9:23 PM, officers received a report of a robbery in progress at the Subway Restaurant located at 9316 Alaska Road North.

The same unknown man entered the store carrying what was believed to be the same shotgun, wearing clothes consistent with the first robbery.

The man is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Appears to be in his 20βs
- Approximately 5 feet tall
- Thin
- Blonde/ Red hair
- In both instances the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
