UPDATE: The woman found unconscious on May 4, 2023, has died. Her death is NOT a result of homicide or any other criminal act. Her injuries are from a medical issue. The BC Coroners Service is now investigating and no further updates will be available.

A woman is in serious condition at UHNBC after being violently assaulted early Thursday morning…

Police say just after 6:00 AM, officers responded to a report of an unconscious woman on the 1600 block of Ingledew Street, near Queensway in Prince George.

“As the investigation progressed, police officers determined the woman was the victim of a violent assault and the Serious Crime Unit was called to take conduct of the investigation. We are now asking anyone with possible video surveillance or dash camera footage from that area between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on May 4, 2023, to contact police,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The investigation is in its early stages. Police officers will continue to have a presence on Ingledew Street for the next several hours.
