UPDATE: The City of Prince George says the area could be open by 1:30 pm today.

Motorists and pedestrians be advised that 5th Ave between Alward and Watrous Streets is closed due to a watermain break on 5th Ave.
The repair is expected to last at least 8 hours.
For eastbound traffic, detour using Wainwright Street to Melville Ave to access downtown or use an entirely different route to downtown.
For westbound traffic use 1st Ave to access Carney Street to 5th Ave or use an entirely different route.
