Water to be shutoff Friday in Southridge neighbourhood…
PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Nearly 300 Prince George residents in the Southridge area of College Heights will be without water on Friday beginning at 7 am for watermain repair. The repair is expected to take 10 hours.
The City of Prince George says in a media release that on January 13, 2023, the City will respond to a watermain break at 7051 Southridge Avenue. Nearly 300 properties will be without water for an estimated 10 hours starting at 7 AM.
The area of affected properties includes nearly the entirety of the Southridge neighbourhood from Southridge Avenue south of St. Anthony Crescent to the St. Dennis Heights area. The area surrounding the main, built in 1992, will be excavated to allow crews to access the break. Motorists are asked to use an alternate route, although local single-alternating traffic will be permitted.
Affected properties are highlighted in blue on the map below.

Residents can prepare for the outage by filling pots and jugs with water for cooking and drinking and filling bathtubs with water for flushing the toilet with a bucket. A toilet will flush when approximately four litres of water is poured into the bowl.
The City would like to thank area residents for their patience and understanding while crews work to repair the water main.
