Police say on October 31, 2022, just before 3:00 AM, officers observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit on Highway 97 near Austin Road. Before investigators could conduct a traffic stop with the vehicle, it pulled into a gas station on the 1700-block of Highway 97.

As officers continued their investigation into the Motor Vehicle Act infraction, they discovered the vehicle was possibly stolen.

Three people associated to the vehicle were detained for the investigation. One of the suspects was found with a pistol-style pellet gun in their pocket which then led to a subsequent search of the vehicle. Officers located a loaded firearm, several more pellet guns, suspected methamphetamine and psilocybin and a large quantity of cash, which are consistent with drug trafficking.

The three suspects were released without charge, pending the full results of the investigation. All three suspects are known to police.
