👷Leave early to avoid traffic congestion on the Simon Fraser Bridge…
If you’re a motorist who frequents the Simon Fraser Bridge on Highway 97 in Prince George you’ve been warned to leave early to your destination and expect delays for the next 10 months as crews begin to refurbish the southbound deck of the Simon Fraser Bridge.
Motorists headed south will be diverted to the northbound deck which will cause delays for all so be prepared!
Motorists can always detour and use the Yellowhead Bridge on Highway 16 East if you need to access the airport in a timely manner.

Below is a message from YRB in Prince George…
When traveling south of #cityofpg , expect to be rerouted from your regular commute over the Simon Fraser Bridge. Ruskin Construction is performing an extensive bridge rehabilitation from Jan – Oct 2022. This requires complete closure of the old Simon Fraser Bridge with all traffic being diverted onto the upstream ‘new’ Simon Fraser bridge. Expect to experience congestion and delays during your regular commute as 4-lane traffic is being reduced to 2-lane traffic. Please be patient and obey all traffic control signage. #bridgeimprovements #ruskinconstruction #simonfraserbridge
