PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Residents who live in the Heritage neighbourhood may experience short disruptions of water service as City crews conduct emergency repairs to water transmission lines.

Residences adjacent to the lines, which extend north on 5thΒ Avenue to the end of Tabor Boulevard, may experience periods of little to no water service that may last from half an hour to two hours.

This project may also result in short periods of reduced water pressure throughout bowl area to the west of Carney Street.

This phase of the operation is expected to be completed by Saturday, November 6.

On Monday, crews began working to repair a damaged water valve, which has led to the closure of the intersection of 1stΒ Avenue and Tabor Boulevard.

Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians are instructed to plan alternate routes since the intersection of 1st Ave. and Tabor Blvd. will be completely closed during construction.

Last week, the City notified businesses in the surrounding area before construction began. The work is expected to be completed by the end of November.

The City thanks residents for their patience as repairs are completed, and encourages motorists to drive cautiously while around road crews.
