PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On Friday, September 10, 2021, the Prince George RCMP arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation from July 2020.
Investigators from the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit arrested 56 year-old Charlene Jane ALEXANDER for the murder of Jessie Mae Hayward-Lines.
“This file has remained a priority for our investigators, who have worked tirelessly to get the investigation to this point. We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Jessie Mae Hayward-Lines, who have endured immense grief this past year,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Back on July 2, 2020, RCMP responded to a serious incident at the Prince George Courthouse where a female victim was stabbed by another woman. The 26 year-old victim was taken to UHNBC and died from her injuries a short time later.
The B.C. Prosecution Service approved one count of First Degree Murder; ALEXANDER will remain in custody until her next court appearance.
