Hot, sticky weather is in the forecast for much of Central and Northern B.C. this coming weekend and well into next week.
Not complaining that summer has arrived after a month of gloomy, rainy weather, however with continued heat like it’s suggested in the latest forecast model, temperatures in the mid to high 30’s will intentionally dry out forests, run up hydro and water bills and be uncomfortable for seniors and those who can’t enjoy the outdoors. Sleeping at night will be intolerable as the temps dip to 20 degrees.
For kids however, it’s summer time and that means water parks, playgrounds and picnics. With temperatures forecast to be between 30 and 37 degrees beginning this weekend, now would be a good time to get the sunscreen to keep kids and yourself protected. Always remember to reapply sunscreen after an extended period of being in water.
One more thing to mention… PLEASE do not LEAVE KIDS or ANIMALS in a hot car! We all know the consequences so if possible leave your furry friends at home and always take your children with you when you leave the vehicle, even if the trip is 3 minutes!! There is no excuse for this behaviour.
