DAWSON CREEK, BC: One person has died following a fiery crash on the Alaska Highway north of Dawson Creek on Friday night…
Police say on May 14, at approximately 11:23 PM, officers were called to a report of a head-on collision between a semi-truck and a pickup truck.
When officers arrived they found the pickup truck to be fully engulfed in flames. Investigation was completed which indicated the driver of the involved pickup veered into the oncoming lane in front of the semi-truck resulting in the head-on collision. Evidence gathered suggests that the pickup intentionally entered the opposing lane of traffic.
Witnesses on scene indicated that the driver of the pickup died instantly. The semi-truck driver received minor injuries for which he was treated on scene.
The highway was closed for several hours while the investigation was completed and the area made safe for other motorists.
The incident remains under investigation.
