PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Residents are advised that the City of Prince George has closed down a section of 5th Avenue between Queensway and Dominion Street following today’s wind storm.

Barricades have been set up next to the Plaza Parkade on the east side of the alley between Karahi King and Crossroads Brewing. Access to the parkade is still available. Further down 5th Avenue, barricades have been established just before the alley between the Makerie Craft and Coffee Bar and the Twisted Cork Restaurant.

The City is taking this action as a precautionary measure after reports that the wind blew sections of flashing off the top of the Wood Innovation and Design Centre (WIDC) into the street. The City is continuing to monitor the situation and will advise residents when the street is reopened.

The City of Prince George appreciates the patience of residents and apologizes for any incovenience these precautionary measures may cause.
