DAWSON CREEK, BC: One man is facing charges following an incident at Walmart in Dawson Creek on Wednesday…

Police say at approximately 7:00 PM, officers were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress at Walmart.

Officers attended and were informed that a customer had assaulted an employee after being asked to wear his face mask as required under the current Provincial Health Order.

A review of surveillance video identified the suspect who was located a short time later at a residence. The suspect, a 30 year-old man, was arrested for assault and mischief and released to attend court at a later date.

The involved victim received minor injuries and did not require immediate medical attention.

The Dawson Creek RCMP would like to remind the public that face masks/shields are required in all indoor public spaces across the province.
