PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Police continue to investigate a hit & run collision involving a pedestrian early in September…
Just before 10:30 PM on Monday September 7, 2020, emergency services including the Prince George RCMP received a report of a hit & run collision involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred along Highway 97 near the intersection of Boundary Road in the City of Prince George.
Frontline officers attended the scene and immediately began assisting paramedics with treatment of an adult male pedestrian suffering from severe injuries. The man was transported to hospital for further treatment and is expected to survive.
It is believed the victim was walking southbound on the southbound side of the road and was struck from behind by a southbound vehicle pulling a trailer. The vehicle did not stop. Several pieces of the vehicle or trailer were located, indicating that it was damaged.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify the vehicle and driver involved in this incident.
The vehicle involved is described as:
- Dark coloured Ford Super Duty pick-up truck
- Manufactured between the years of 2008 & 2016
- Would have had damage to the front right (passenger) side of the truck and the passenger side mirror
The truck was pulling a trailer, described as:
- Single axel boat trailer
- Carrying an older white boat, approximately 16-20 feet long, with a tower and two speakers
Although police remain open to all possibilities, given the hour of the day it is possible that the driver of this vehicle resides south of Boundary Road and possibly in another community. Investigators continue to urge the driver to attend the Prince George Detachment and speak to an officer.
