SMITHERS, BC: On Thursday, September 17 2020, at 5:36 PM, Smithers RCMP received a report of a possible plane crash near Skillhorn Road in Telkwa, BC.
A member of the Telkwa Fire Department, who lives in the area, reported seeing the low flying air craft as it disappeared, followed by a loud bang.
Smithers RCMP were advised and Telkwa Fire members, on ATV’s, began to look for the crash site. EMBC / Joint Rescue Centre, BCAS, and Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue were called.
The Telkwa Fire Department located the crash site, which was not accessible by vehicles and found the two occupants of the plane. Both were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Transport Safety Board has been contacted and has conduct of the investigation.
