Police say just before 10:30 PM, emergency services including the Prince George RCMP received a report of a hit & run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred along Highway 97 near the intersection with Boundary Road in the City of Prince George.
Officers attended the scene and immediately began assisting paramedics with treatment of an adult male pedestrian suffering from severe injuries. The man was transported to hospital for further treatment.
Investigators gathered evidence at the scene and at this time, it is believed the male was walking south on the southbound side of the road when was struck from behind by a southbound vehicle or trailer. The vehicle did not stop. Several pieces of the vehicle or trailer were located indicating that it was damaged and should be noticeable.
Police are urging the driver to attend the Prince George Detachment and speak to an officer.
