As of 12 AM, August 2, all watches and warnings have ended following a full late Saturday afternoon of severe storms in the southern BC Peace.
Environment Canada is forecasting thunderstorms for the BC Peace and Fort Nelson region for later this afternoon and evening.
Storms rolled through the Mackenzie, Pine Pass and Chetwynd areas late Friday night and during the overnight Saturday. Lightning was a major part of the storm system which could lead to the start of a late forest fire season for British Columbia’s north region.
