FORT ST. JOHN, BC: Police have released details on a single vehicle crash which occurred on Tuesday…
Police say just before 9 pm, officers responded to the crash scene on the Alaska Highway, just north of the Junction with Highway 29.
Officers learned a northbound driver lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle and rolled into a ditch filled with water. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was submerged in water on the southbound side of the road.
Prior to RCMP arrival, passing motorists and a local resident were able to remove the driver from the vehicle and apply life saving measures. The driver was transported to hospital and later flown to Prince George in stable condition.
The investigation into the traffic incident is ongoing.
The Fort St. John RCMP is thanking all those who stopped and assisted in the rescue as their actions saved a life.
