PRINCE GEORGE, BC: A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday afternoon at the intersection of Hwy 16/97…
Police say just before 4:00 PM, RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection. A 49 year-old man was located suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
Evidence from the scene and multiple witness accounts indicate that the driver of an SUV was traveling westbound on Highway 16 on a green light at the time of the collision.
A portion of this intersection was closed while officers gathered evidence.
The investigation is continuing.
Police would like to remind all road users to be cautious, especially at this time as motorists and pedestrians adjust to the winter driving conditions. Dress to be seen for pedestrians and motorists should turn their headlights on and not rely on daytime running lights.
