The water main has been fixed and 3rd Ave has reopened.
PRINCE GEORGE, BC: 3rd Avenue is currently closed between Victoria and Brunswick as crews excavate the site. Work will continue overnight. It’s believed that the failure occurred in a large, cast iron water pipe installed in 1956.
Only properties on the south side of 3rd Avenue in the vicinity of the leak have no water service at the present time. Nevertheless, shutting off the main may have caused some short-term disruptions of service or dirty water in the area.
In this case, residents should run their water until it’s clean. Please call 3-1-1 to report persistent water service problems.
