Third victim of Hit and Run crash dies…

KAMLOOPS, BC: The third victim from the hit and run collision that occurred on 1st Avenue in Kamloops has succumbed to his injuries…

On November 3rd a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a car which was driving on 1st Avenue. The driver of the pickup truck fled the area before emergency services arrived. Two of the four occupants of the car died on scene, a third was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. This victim, a man in his 30’s died last Tuesday night.

Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has identified the alleged driver of the pickup truck and the investigation is progressing.

“We would like to thank the media and the public for assisting us in identifying a witness who was on lst Avenue that night. The police have since spoken with this individual. We are now looking for an unidentified female who assisted in first aid at the scene. This woman was described as wearing a long white coat with black geometric designs on it. If you provided first aid at this scene and have not yet spoke with police, please contact the Kamloops RCMP at (250)828-3000,” states Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.

Once all witnesses have been spoken to and all forensic evidence has been processed, police will then be able to forward all information to the BC Prosecution Service who will determine what, if any, charges are applicable.
