PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On the afternoon of Tuesday October 1, 2019, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a residential break and enter at a home on Summit Street, near the intersection of Ospika Boulevard and Rainbow Drive in Prince George.
Sometime during the day, one or more suspects forcibly entered the home and removed a large gun safe that was secured to a wall. Three hand guns and one long gun were secured in the safe at the time of the theft.
Investigators believe that the residence and the safe was targeted by the suspect(s) in order to steal the firearms. The curlprit(s) were likely in the residence for a considerable amount of time while they worked to remove the safe. The investigation is continuing.
“Guns were clearly targeted in this break & enter” says Cpl. Craig Douglass, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “Every gun owner should take all precautions to secure their firearms and should refrain from discussing locations and details of their guns with others.”
