Two men arrested and firearm seized during theft investigation…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Two men are in custody and facing multiple firearms charges after fleeing from officers on Wednesday morning…

Police say at approximately 8:30 AM, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit were conducting a theft from motor vehicle investigation on Carney Street. While in the midst of their investigation, two males, both well known to police, happened upon the officers and immediately tried to flee the area on foot when told to stop.

After a brief foot chase, both males were taken into custody. Upon searching the individuals, one male was found to have an empty gun holster concealed beneath his clothing and the other was in possession of identification that did not belong to him.

The Prince George RCMP Police Dog Services attended and located a loaded pistol on the ground in close proximity to the male with the empty gun holster; it was later determined that the pistol was stolen.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following Criminal Code charges against 21 year-old Julien LAZARRE of Prince George…

  • Possession of a firearm knowing the possession unauthorized
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

LAZARRE has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for Wednesday October 2, 2019.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following Criminal Code charges against 31 year-old Devin OLSON of Prince George:…

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Identity theft

Olson has been released on bail and his next court appearance is scheduled for October 9, 2019.
