Police investigating theft of mountain bike…

FORT ST. JOHN, BC: Police in Fort St. John are asking for the public’s help after a resident was robbed of their bike on June 16…

Police say at around 3:20 AM, officers were called to a robbery on the northside of 100th Ave and 102nd St. The actual incident occurred at around 3 AM, when the person was riding their bike to work and was approached by four men. The men, dressed all in black and wearing white bandanas to cover their faces, accosted the person over the bike.

One of the men punched the cyclist in the face, causing the person to fall off their bike. The suspect males then took the red mountain bike and left eastbound on 100th Ave.

The Fort St. John RCMP Police Dog Services unit attended the scene, but were not able to locate the suspects.

“If you or someone you know has seen anyone matching this description or knows someone who mysteriously has a red mountain bike, we would like to hear from you,” said Cst Chad Neustaeter. “If there are people willing to physically assault someone else for their bicycle, then the police need to meet these people.”

The Fort St. John RCMP believe this to be an isolated incident but continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident or can assist in identifying any of these suspects, please contact the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100. Should you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
