SAR along with RCMP search for missing male in the Peace River…

HUDSON’S HOPE, BC: The Hudson’s Hope RCMP along with North Peace Search and Rescue are searching for an Alberta man who was swept away in the Peace River last evening…

Police say on Wednesday May 29, at 5:44 PM, Search and Rescue was called to assist the RCMP in finding a 39 year-old man swept away in the river near the Peace Canyon Bridge. Frontline Officers, Fire Rescue, SAR and BC EHS responded immediately.

RCMP conducted a marine search while SAR conducted a shore line search. Fire Rescue were positioned along the shoreline to aid in the search. With darkness fast approaching the search was suspended and resumed Thursday morning.

Officers have spoken with family of the missing man and at this time police will not be releasing his identity.
