PRINCE GEORGE, BC: One person has died following a head-on crash near Purden Lake this morning…
Police say just after 10:00 AM, emergency services including frontline officers from the Prince George RCMP and the North District RCMP, responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Purden Lake, approximately 40 kilometres east of Prince George.
The collision involved a tractor-trailer unit and a vehicle. The adult male driver of the vehicle was confirmed deceased at the scene. The BC Coroner Service and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist has been called to the scene.
The highway is expected to be closed for several hours while officers investigate and the road is cleared. According to DriveBC.ca, the highway could reopen at 8 PM.
This investigation is the beginning stages. More details may be released later.
