TERRACE, BC: As families prepare to load their ATVs, boats, and motorbikes for a May long weekend of camping and fun, the Terrace RCMP want to remind people that alcohol, motor vehicles, and underage drinking are a quick and sure way to ruin a good time.
To help keep people be safe the RCMP and its partners will be teaming up with additional enforcement throughout the long weekend.
As of Thursday May 16 to Victoria Day, the Terrace RCMP will be working together with Conservation Officers, the Provincial Park Rangers, Department of Oceans and Fisheries, and the West Pacific Traffic Services to conduct extra enforcement in town, on the roadways, in rec sites, and on the waterways.
Those who are not obeying the rules, particularly surrounding liquor offences will be asked to leave or evicted from rec sites. Guardians of minors will be contacted to remove their children from the park should they be found committing a criminal or provincial offence.
Have a great May long weekend and be safe!
