UPDATE 5: The Lejac wildfire is now 50 per cent contained. An Evacuation Alert remains in effect. The fire is an estimated 236 hectares.
UPDATE 4: As of Sunday evening, The Evacuation Order has ended for the Lejac wildfire but an Evacuation Alert remains. We’ll have a further update regarding the fire itself later Monday morning.
UPDATE 3: Fire crews have the Lejac fire 70 per cent guarded but it is still at 0 per cent containment. Forty wildfire crews are now battling the fire which saw no overnight grow according to the BC Wildfire Service update. The fire has been remapped at 236 hectares. As of 2:56 PM Sunday May 12. All evacuation orders and alerts remain in place.
UPDATE 2: The Lejac wildfire is now an estimated 260 hectares in size and is 0 per cent contained. An Evacuation Order is in order along with an Evacuation Alert for areas near Fraser Lake. As of 11:14 PM.

A forest fire has broke out near the community of Fraser Lake this evening.
The wildfire service says the Lejac wildfire is around 100 hectares in size and is burning 5 km east of Fraser Lake. The fire is visible from Fraser Lake, Highway 16 and smoke is headed east towards communities and is now moving into the PG region. The fire is suspected to be human caused.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is in the process of implementing evacuation alerts and orders for some areas near the fire. Further info which will be posted to their website: www.RDBN.bc.ca
This fire is being managed by BC Wildfire Service personnel along with air support.
Twenty firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night.
