PRINCE GEORGE, BC: A Prince George resident has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act after a collision with a pedestrian last fall…
Police say at approximately 3 AM on September 15, 2018, an officer came upon a collision at the intersection of 5th Ave and Victoria Street. The pedestrian, a 66 year-old local man, was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Through investigation, it was determined that the northbound vehicle collided with the eastbound pedestrian at the uncontrolled and unmarked intersection.
The BC Prosecution Service has approved a Motor Vehicle Act charge of failing to yield to a pedestrian against 53 year-old Khalid Ayub KHAN of Prince George. KHAN has been served a Summons to appear in court on May 22, 2019.
The Prince George RCMP wish to remind the public that drivers must yield to pedestrians crossing at all intersections, whether there is a marked crosswalk or not.
