Update: School will resume on Monday at Montessori Elementary.
PRINCE GEORGE, BC: The Prince George RCMP have received information of threats directed at Polaris Montessori School in the city.
The RCMP is in constant dialogue with School District 57 and it is the RCMP’s recommendation that the school be evacuated. Although there has not been a specific threat to any one individual, as a precautionary measure, School District 57 will evacuate the school.
In keeping with the school protocol, students will be bussed to College Heights Elementary school where they will be well cared for. If parents and or guardians wish to pick up their child(ren) they can do so at College Heights Elementary. Police are actively working to determine the exact source of the threat and ask that parents not attend Polaris Montessori School.
Parents will be contacted by school staff to make arrangements for pick up.
As this is a stressful situation for all involved, police wish to remind everyone to be mindful of your driving and obey all the rules of the road, especially in and around the school zones.
