PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On Thursday March 7, 2019 at approximately 11:45 AM, frontline RCMP officers responded to a report of an adult male in mental distress at a residence on Handlen Road in Prince George. Firearms were believed to be involved.
Due to the close proximity of Kelly Road Secondary School, police instructed school administration to initiate emergency procedures to ensure students remained safely inside.
At approximately 1:20 PM, the male was apprehended by members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team without further incident. The man was transported to hospital for treatment.
The investigation is continuing and the school has been advised.
The Prince George RCMP want to thank the public, school staff, students and parents, for their patience during this incident.
