SMITHERS, BC: A grader operator is recovering in hospital following a serious collision involving a train and a snow plow last Tuesday near Quick, BC…
Police say a grader was struck by a CN train that could not stop in time on February 19 just before 11 AM. The collision pushed the grader and its occupant a few hundred meters down the track. Officers from Smithers, BC Ambulance, Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue, and Smithers Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
Emergency crews managed to get the operator out of the crushed grader and was taken to hospital with injuries.
Police are continuing to gather details of the event. Work Safe BC was notified by the RCMP at the onset, and they too have initiated an investigation.
