UPDATE: Highway 97 could reopen at 11 AM.
The Prince George RCMP is currently on scene of a head-on collision involving a logging truck and a transport truck on Highway 97 North near the Wright Creek Bridge. The incident was reported to police at 6:05 AM today. No serious injuries have been reported.
The highway is temporarily closed in both directions until the severely damaged trucks, trailers and debris can be removed from the road. This is expected to take at least two more hours.
Police would like to thank the public for their patience as emergency services, tow truck drivers and highway personnel work to make the road safe for traffic.
