Pack-A-PC event a huge success once again…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Local police officers, volunteers, and Detachment staff were out donating their time this past Sunday to help feed seniors in need this holiday season.

For six hours on Sunday December 9th, 2018, the Prince George RCMP had police vehicles at all four local Save-On Foods stores and asked the public to help to “Pack-A-PC” (police car) with non-perishable foods. Police officers, Detachment staff, and volunteers donated their time in front of each store collecting the donations.

Local officers and staff of Save-On Foods helped fill 30 police cruisers this Christmas.

On Monday December 10th, 2018, representatives from the Prince George RCMP delivered a cube van full of non-perishable food along with cash & gift cards to the Prince George Council of Seniors.

“The generosity of this community just gets better and better” says Bev Livingstone, City of Prince George municipal employee that organized the event. “We have once again surpassed last year’s donations!”

The event was a giant success. Food donations filled over 30 police cars surpassing last year’s total of 22. Cash and gift card donations topped $3100, short of last year’s $4000.

The RCMP would like to thank the Prince George Save-On-Foods stores for partnering with us for this event, Wood Wheaton GM for donating the cube van and all those that took the time to donate to this worthwhile cause.
